I’m gonna start by saying it was absolutely FANTASTIC! The classes and parties were great, the people and the atmosphere even better! I personally cannot choose a favourite workshop as I enjoyed each and everyone. The PW with shines from Anke & Gil was crazy with all the hands flipping around:) and the cuban rumba was just awesome.. no-one moves like Israel Gutierrez! The hip hop salsa was something new.. all I can say is Go Dado! Super Mario is a story of his own. I took three of his classes (flashy combinations, surprise moves and crazy combinations) and they were all very fun and unique. He made people laugh on every class. I liked his style of teaching the most, although I still resent him for calling me crazy;). The advanced lead and follow by Orville and Sabrina was great as well – some very useful tips on how to be a better dance partner. These were the lessons I took, but others say they enjoyed the rest of the workshops just as well. So to all our instructors, job well done!
Now lets comment on the 3 evening parties.. or should I say four, because there was an afterparty on Saturday, but I didn’t really attend it – my feet were killing me! So, the Friday party was OK and it wasn’t too crowded, so that’s good. Some very interesting performances from the instructors. The audience was cheering and clapping all the way through the show program! The Saturday party was amazing. But there were so many people it was sometimes hard to find some free space to dance. Again, the shows were great. My favourites were the Salsation dance group – amazing and very funny may I add. I also enyojed the performance from Anke & Gil!! Anke always looks so pretty and the two look like they are always having a really fun time dancing together. The Sunday party was very relaxing. No show program, just pure fun. I think we were all very tired from the two days of intense workshops and parties, that we all took it very easy, had some laughs, a few spins around the dance floor and then off to bed.
So here comes my conclusion. I hope everyone had a great and memorable time at the festival. Dancing salsa is all about having lots of fun and learning new moves. So if you did, then the purpose of the 5th Salsa Power festival was achieved!
The gallery from this weekend will soon be posted here, so come back in the next couple of days to check it out!
Luv ya all!! Kisses,
